For that epic experience to fill up your camera phone’s memory storage, Camp Jabulani in Hoedspruit is it. The lodge is located in a Big Five game reserve, so don’t be surprised to hear a few grumbles through the night while resting in their beautiful luxury cabins. All suites include a private plunge pool and patio, where you can relax while overlooking the safari grounds. The charming open-plan bathroom includes dual sinks, a large soak tub and an all-glass shower, where you peek out into your natural surroundings while enjoying ultimate privacy. The suites are air-conditioned, but bed netting is provided should you choose open the sliding doors to remain fully immersed with nature.
But no worries if you do, the property is fenced in, and attendants escort you back to your cabin at night. And if you do hear noises at night, it’s likely to come from the camp’s resident elephants, who are available for meet-and-greets and photo ops by day (the property no longer offers elephant-back safaris).
An all-inclusive stay at the camp offers your multiple camp drives, guided bush walks, all your meals and snacks. Additionally, most guests will experience the camp’s boma dinner, which is an African outdoor dining tradition, in which you feast on a spread of meats, stews and other South African specialties (campjabulani.com).
Unwinding from my full day of game drives. #campjabulani #visitsouthafrica
